Trader Joe’s Crunchy Curls Review
Who would have ever thought that deep frying pig tails would make such great snacks?! I’m just kidding, but am I the only one who thinks about little piggie tails when you look at these things? How cuuute..or..how disgusting, depending how you look at it. Anyways, they are unique. Lentil and potato based? Now that’s a new one by me. But I’ve gotta say, not bad at all! They are actually really crunchy, almost hard, when you bite into them. They somewhat remind me of something like an overcooked pork rind. Flavor wise, they are pretty starchey, have a bit of saltiniess to them, and have a really suble pepery sort of after taste. That part caught me off guard. All in all, not terrible. But not an all star either. I’m not sure I see these ones hanging around forever. Give them a shot though and let us know what you think down below!
Usage Idea
There’s not a whole lot of other foods I think these would pair well with, but one thing that I did find ultra savory was popping a few of these snacks with an ice cold glass of Trader Joe’s Botswain Double IPA! Really a good complement!
