Trader Joe’s Moon X 2018 Black Pinot Noir Red Wine Review
You know, going into this one I had some real high hopes. After enjoying several consistent bottles of something like the Mack Daddy of all red wines on the Trader Joe’s wine isle, the Original Moon X, I was ready to have my socks knocked off. Well, umm, as I write this…I’m sorry to report back to you. My socks are still on. Drat.
By no means is this a bad bottle of wine, but I think I’d try another Pinot Noir option before I circled back to this one, for whatever that’s worth. The bouquet hits you with a slight bit of acidity. On the tongue, it’s definitely not sweet, maybe even just a touch toward the sour end of the spectrum. I’m tasting plum and raspberry notes. One thing I will give you though, is that it is smooooothhh. Really smooth for a Pinot in my opinion. Much more than others I have tasted, which are a bit more sharp and crisp.
The search continues. Looking forward to being sockless in Seattle someday. Let us know what you think down below though!
