Trader Joe’s Tortillas Del Comal Review

For me, such a large part of what makes a Mexican bread frisbie just absolute money is the softness, chewiness, and structural integrity of them. These Tortillas Del Comal really deliver in that department! Isn’t it just the worst when you get a package of tortillas home, open them up with high hopes, start trying to roll something up in them, and they begin to bust at the seams with just the slightest amount of pressure put on them?! Or worse yet, you use that ever so ginger touch very carefully rolling up the contents inside, you set the wrapped beauty on a plate, and a few seconds later, almost as if you just looked at the thing wrong, it explodes in your face?! Ugh, this just kills me! Don’t laugh guys, I KNOW you know what I’m talking about! What good is a tortilla if you can’t roll things up in them?? Why even bother?

Well, I’m here to tell ya, not only do these things taste amazing, but they are highly workable as compared to your run of the mill cheapie tortilla. I highly, highly advise you, next time you are shopping at Trader Joe’s, spend up the extra couple of cents and pick these guys up instead of the cheapest base level tortilla they’ve got there. And for God’s sake, never ever buy those horrid Mission brand tortillas from the regular grocery store, or any of those other cheapie similar big named brand tortillas. I can’t belive they are as widely distrubited as they are. Shouldn’t the MTA (Mexican Tortilla Authority) have shut them down by now?! What a disgrace…SMH

Anyways, pick some up today! They are just amazing! Let us know what you think down below! $

Usage Idea

I’m a huge fan of having little burritos on hand to snack on here and there. I usually make the whole tortilla pack’s worth all in one go and just keep the premade burritos in container in the fridge. Pop them in the microwave for 1 minute when you are ready to eat them. This is stone simple. You can make a bunch of these with 1 package of Trader Joe’s Tortillas Del Comal, 1 can of Trader Joe’s Pinto Beans, 1 can of Trader Joe’s Black Beans, 1 cup of steamed white rice, and 1 package of Trader Joe’s Lite Mexican Blend Shredded Cheese. Put your favorite salsa on them too to kick them up a notch. I’m a huge fan of the Trader Joe’s Salsa Verde.
