Trader Joe’s Epicuro Nero D’Avola 2018 Red Wine Review
As I rang out in the Trader Joe’s aisle, the guy behind the counter ASSURED me this wine would not disappoint! I walked out thinking, sheesh, what does that derelict know about cheap wines that Mike likes? What an half wit. My gosh…I am eating my words friends. Not only that, I’m scared how a stranger could know me so well?! Have I just found my soul mate?
This Nero D’Avola speaks to me! It’s actually really good for the price point! First off, if you are looking for something not so sweet as something like a red blend, but not quite as bold and heavy as something like a cab or even a Merlot might be, then this might be a good pick for you. I find it to be pleasantly right in the middle of extremes lets say. Slightly dry, juicy, somewhat lightly tart. I taste strawberry. Smell rosey perfume. Not interested in the wine snob words?! Screw it, this is a perfect table wine. Along the lines of something like a Chianti, but I find myself liking this better. Not as sharp lets say. Nice smooth finish on this by contrast. Would go great with pizza and salad! Go get some though! You can’t go wrong for 5 bucks! Let us know what you think down below!
