Trader Joe’s Organic Tuscan Kale
At first, I really had a hard time warming up to this kale. Make no mistake, the stuff is not for the faint of heart. These leaves are pretty meaty, so to speak, and might be found just a touch on the bitter side by some. But if you are willing to deal, I just don’t think you’ll find a much healthier and power nutrient packed green out there! I mean, just look at how deeply green colored those leaves are! I mean, wow! Just wow! After a significant amount of time using this kale for making salads in particular, I feel like I’ve found the secret to bringing out the best in this stuff. And that is quite simply this. You have to let the salad sit and chill in the refrigerator for about one to two hours after you dress it to allow the leaves to soften up a bit and for the oils and flavors to absorb into the flesh of the vegetable. I guarantee you this will take that kale salad of yours over the top! Heck, I’ve even made believers out of skeptics of those who previously had strong aversions to eating kale at all!
