Trader Joe’s Italian Sausage-less Sausage Review
It’s always a challenge trying to find vegetarian sausages that are a decent stand in for the real thing. These little guys actually fit the bill quite nicely! The flavor is just about right, with a mild spiciness to them, and on the consistency factor, they’re just about as good as it’s gonna get for a veggie stand in. The other thing that I’m always looking for also is how well they maintain their moisture when you cook them. I’d say these fall somewhere in the middle. And a lot of it just depends on how you prepare them and whether or not you use any oil or water in the way that you heat them up. I think if you were to just fry they up in a pan all by themselves they may end up pretty dry, but throw in a little olive oil into the mix and you’ll be in pretty good shape! Plus, you’ll get a nice little browning on the outside which always adds a nice bit of flavor. Give them a shot! Let us know what you think down below!
Sausages Usage Idea
One of my favorite ways to use veggie sausages is to make sandwiches out of them. I feel like doing this really offsets the general problems you have with dryness. Give this a whirl sometime! I’ve used 1 Trader Joe’s Italian Sausage-less sausage cut up and sauteed with some Trader Joe’s Fire Roasted Bell Peppers, onion, Trader Joe’s Sliced Sourdough Bread, and topped with some yellow mustard!
