Trader Joe’s Grand Horse Old Vine Zinfandel 2016 Red Wine Review

The Grand Horse zin is, well…Freakin GRAND! Sorry guys, it’s been a long day. That’s the best my brain can turn out at the moment. Anyways, let’s talk vino. The first thing that will hit you when you taste this wine is how smooth it is. No bite at all. A very mellow old vine zin, as most are compared to the straight zin varietals. I’m tasting a dry black currant fruity flavor to this, with a slight hint of rose flower on the bouquet and even in the taste, if you allow your imagination to wander a little. I ate this with chick pea pesto pasta and an arugula salad. This would really go well with a wide range of things. I would say though, if you are going with a steak, maybe range up to something a little more forceful, like a cab. But this wine is an easy drinker either way. A good one to just chill with after a long day too. Let us know what you think down below though! I want to know what you guys think of it. 4 chests all the way though from me.

$5.99
